The Time Is Now.. Break Ties with Distractions

The time is now to break ties with Distractions. We are in a season of being still and knowing God. The devil is cunning enough to know what your weaknesses are and how to keep you bound. He will have you running in the same cycles of life. I remember the days as a young child where playing outside and enjoying the company of others was practically normal. With the advancement of technology the attention span of humans has decreased by 25%. Everywhere you go there is some ad, tv show, reel, video or movie bargaining with your time and soul.

John 10:10 says “A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance." These distractions come to keep you from completing your assignments, task, or comuning with the Father. They also come to bring the spirit of slumber and spirit of heaviness so that you become counter productive. Instead you become lazy, insufficent, and left wandering. From constant strolls on social media and binge watching movies reveals a breach in your armor. You are now exposed and at any given moment an attack from the adversary is coming. Why is that?

The bible clearly provides instructions to watch and pray.“Stay awake and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak"(Matthew‬ ‭26‬:‭41‬ ‭CSB‬‬). When our minds are constantly on everything else we are not privy to falling into sin and allowing our distractions to become idols. The disciples couldnt even stay awake because they fell prey to spirit of slumber which came as a distraction. The devil will try everything in his power to drain you. If we fail to go to the source-Jesus to refuel and gain strength we are then left weak fragile and without power to fight back. These distractions keep your purpose and fufilling the vision God has given you. We must resist the distractions by staying in the word of God and prayer. These two operate together and you will be able to discern when the devil is trying to steer your focus. Re-focus your attention and you will begin to see progression and the fruit of your labor. The Lord will grant you a reward and harvest when we willingly choose to seek him with all of our hearts mind body and soul!

Challenge for the week:

Its time to counter act him. Put your phone on the other side of the room and spend time with God. Turn it off if you have to for a period. If your issue is television, simply unplug tv and move the remote in a different room.
